Our air-conditioned coach will pick you up for a day touring our beautiful island. Our guide will tell you all about the fascinating culture, history and sights that Kos has to offer.
First you will learn about the history of Hippocrates by visiting the Asklepeion, an ancient hospital, dedicated to the God of Health, Asklepeios.
After we scale the mountains to the traditional village of Zia, which looks over the island, providing panoramic views. Here you can visit the quaint, traditional craft shops and the Natural Park with its birds, goats and other different animals of Kos, or maybe stop for a coffee break in one of the many cafes, while taking in the unbeatable view. Continuing through the mountains, we visit Pyli with its fresh mountain spring.
Next we head to Kefalos where we stop at Kamari Bay. Here you will have time to enjoy the crystal clear waters at one of the best beaches on the island or have a meal at the beach tavern. Last but not least we visit Antimahia, in the middle of the island, with the oldest active windmill of Kos and a traditional greek house.
Enjoy yourself and get to know this beautiful island all in one day !
Take the chance to visit one of the most beautiful island of the Aegean.
Nissyros, one of the smallest islands of the Dodecanese, still untouched from today’s modernism, is rich in unparalleled natural beauties and cultural heritage. It leads its life between the white painted narrow streets of its capital Mandraki and the semi-wild nature of the Volcanic Valley.
Have your breath taken away as our guide accompanies you in the coach, driving up 2000 feet to the highest point of the mountain for a visit to the volcano, one of the few dormant volcano’s in the world. Experience the incredible panoramic view before starting the descent to the crater, where you will feel the volcano alive, bubbling under foot and see the sculpture springs hissing. The visit of the island is not complete without a homage to the old Byzantine Castle, which hosts the Monastery of Virgin Mary, carved into the rock.
Myth has it that the monastery was established by regretted pirates who became its first monks.
As a special highlight we will as well visit the traditional and picturesque mountain village Nikia during our stay in the island.

This varied tour is perfect for those who want just a little bit more.
You will visit the Cave of the Apocalypse, home to the birth of the Book of Revelation, the last book in the Holy Bible. In 95AD, at the time of the persecution of the Christians, St. John was exiled to the island of Patmos where the vision of the Revelation was revealed to him in this small cave which has now become a place of worship and an important destination for pilgrims.
On leaving the Cave you will drive to the old village of Chora, on the hilltop where you will have the opportunity to photograph the breathtaking panoramic view over the island and discover the stunning architecture of houses dating from the fifteen to eighteen hundreds.
Chora, the island's capital, houses the 11th century Monastery of St. John the Theologian. Here one can get a glimpse of monastic life and absorb timeless history through the magnificent ecclesiastical artifacts of its museum. Among the Monastery’s treasures are frescoes of the founder Christodoulou and miracles of St. John, ancient documents dating from the 6th century, vestments, silverware and numerous icons including a work attributed to El Greco.
From the Monastery you will walk through the winding cobbled streets of Chora to the house of Simandiris. There you will have the unique experience of seeing the interior of a traditional Patmian house along with antique furniture, embroidery, and paintings collected over 8 generations of the Simandiris family members.
Before returning by your private vehicle to the port of Skala, you will conclude your tour with a walk through Chora and have the opportunity to browse the open air shops.
An interesting scenic island tour has been designed for those of you who prefer to discover the beauties of Patmos within the comfort of an air-conditioned private vehicle.
Commencing your tour from the port of Skala you will drive halfway up the mountain to the cave of St. John to visit the most important site of the island.

You will continue your drive around the island to see its landscape of outstanding natural beauty comprised mostly of rocky hills, dozens of tongues of land reaching out into the sea, tranquil beaches and many picturesque inlets, before you arrive at the village of Kambos, located in the north part of the island.

Kos Aktis Art hotel 4* in DBL Sea view room.
Operating all year round, built in a superb location in the center of the city, right on the seafront and with all its rooms facing the magnificent view of the sea, «Kos Aktis» is a unique destination for every traveler. For a couple looking for a two-day getaway during winter, for someone traveling due to work and needs a place to rest, for a cyclist exploring new place on two wheels, for all those who wish to experience authentic, ancient Greek hospitality, at least for once. Since 2005, when it was founded, the hotel has become one of the top destinations for those seeking for a daily contact with the sea.
Its thirty six rooms and six suites, equally divided into three floors, are overlooking the city of Halicarnassus which is located right next to the Greek borders. When relaxing on his spacious balcony during the day, the traveler may enjoy the lively colors of the sun in the beautiful sky and during the evening, he may enjoy the silence of the night while staring at the bright stars. If there is a full moon, he is able to admire the reflection of the moon to the undisturbed, dark blue color of the sea.
The oldest hotel on the island, «Albergo Gelsomino», stands on the left side of «Kos Aktis» since 1927. On the right side, there is a cycling path which leads to the marina of the island and opposite of the hotel's main entrance, the enormous fig tree dominates the park of Vasileos Georgiou street. With no doubt, glass is the element which characterizes the general construction of the hotel. The windows on the corridors and rooms make it perfectly bright and allow an unconfined communication between the hotel with the surrounding environment. The thick glass on the balconies transforms the outer room dividers into perfectly aligned canvases, where the sky is reflected with different colors each time. If you look at them from a distance, they look like pendulous paintings. Lastly, on the ground floor, the sliding glass doors at the bar-restaurant «H20» offer the impression that tables are floating on the sea. In other words, no matter where the traveler stands into the hotel, he can either admire the water or observe the various stimulus occuring outside the building.
Besides, this was the original goal. All dynamic images created continuously from the combination of water motion and light intensity should be able to circulate freely. This way, the traveler senses that his environment is constantly changing even though it actually remains the same.
Patmos Aktis 5* in DBL Deluxe room.
Dazed by the heat, you get up from the sun bed and stand up. Your feet are heavy, due to the winter's exhausting lifestyle. You walk two steps into the thick sand and your feet are eager to enter the blue sea. Overlooking Tragonisi, you take a long dive to cool yourself. Once you come back to the surface, life has a different, optimistic perspective. Fishes bite your toes and seagulls land near you, while the sun paints the water surface with golden stripes. Free from all stressful thoughts, since saltiness burned all worries, you feel blessed to have experienced such a dive. Greek summer at its best. That is exactly what happens in «Patmos Aktis Suites & Spa»; you create inspiring experiences for a lifetime.
It’s not only the long, optimistic dives that will remain unforgetable during your stay in the revived Xenia. Your afternoon strolls in the outdoor area of the hotel, giving you the impression of walking in Chora, will be memorable, as well. White-washed stone walls, picturesque alleys decorated with all kinds of flowers, leading you from one neighbor to another, and well preserved gardens, compose this contemporary white province of 56 rooms and villas. The mystic ambiance creates the impression of being lost somewhere in the Eastern Mediterranean, with the sun following every step of your way.
Here, contemporary minimalism comes hand in hand with traditional elements. The construction materials won’t dominate you, you are free to wander, enjoy the salty air and discover all these features that invisibly combine the hotel with the island’s historical and cultural identity. The riddle of this unconscious, yet existing, discovery starts from the lobby, where you notice a red inked signature on the wall behind the reception desk. It represents the contract with which, in April 1088, Alexios A’ Komninos handed over Patmos Ιsland to Saint Christodoulos, in order to build the Monastery of Saint John the Evangelist.
