Day 2 – Kos Island tour (Optional Daily excursion 09:00-17:00)

Our air-conditioned coach will pick you up for a day touring our beautiful island. Our guide will tell you all about the fascinating culture, history and sights that Kos has to offer.
First you will learn about the history of Hippocrates by visiting the Asklepeion, an ancient hospital, dedicated to the God of Health, Asklepeios.
After we scale the mountains to the traditional village of Zia, which looks over the island, providing panoramic views. Here you can visit the quaint, traditional craft shops and the Natural Park with its birds, goats and other different animals of Kos, or maybe stop for a coffee break in one of the many cafes, while taking in the unbeatable view. Continuing through the mountains, we visit Pyli with its fresh mountain spring.
Next we head to Kefalos where we stop at Kamari Bay. Here you will have time to enjoy the crystal clear waters at one of the best beaches on the island or have a meal at the beach tavern.
Last but not least we visit Antimahia, in the middle of the island, with the oldest active windmill of Kos and a traditional greek house.
Enjoy yourself and get to know this beautiful island all in one day !

Day 3 – Nissyros Volcanic adventure (Optional Daily Excursion 08:00-17:30)

Take the chance to visit one of the most beautiful island of the Aegean.
Nissyros, one of the smallest islands of the Dodecanese, still untouched from today’s modernism, is rich in unparalleled natural beauties and cultural heritage. It leads its life between the white painted narrow streets of its capital Mandraki and the semi-wild nature of the Volcanic Valley.
Have your breath taken away as our guide accompanies you in the coach, driving up 2000 feet to the highest point of the mountain for a visit to the volcano, one of the few dormant volcano’s in the world. Experience the incredible panoramic view before starting the descent to the crater, where you will feel the volcano alive, bubbling under foot and see the sculpture springs hissing. The visit of the island is not complete without a homage to the old Byzantine Castle, which hosts the Monastery of Virgin Mary, carved into the rock. Myth has it that the monastery was established by regretted pirates who became its first monks.
As a special highlight we will as well visit the traditional and picturesque mountain village Nikia during our stay in the island.

The next highlight on our tour will be the town and port of Lakki, to arrive there we pass the villages of Spilia and Vromolithos. Lakki was constructed during the Italian Occupation (1930). The port of Lakki is one of the most secure natural ports of the Mediterranean Sea. Leaving the town we follow the road along the seaside towards Merikia and the location to visit is a very interesting and unique museum: the War Tunnel Museum. It is situated in an authentic underground bomb shelter. The exhibition takes you back to World War II. A Video clip shows very realistic these dark days of history.

Our tour takes us now to the southern part of Leros, leaving behind us Temenia we arrive at Xirokambos. (A charming village with a nice beach). The purpose of our stay is a little chapel: the Panagia Kavouradena -The Virgin Mary with the crab.
Back to Lakki we are heading towards the northern part of the island passing through the villages of Plakes, Drymonas, Gourna (famous for a marvelous sunset) and Kamara, continuing to Partheni, passing the Airport, and arriving at our last destination the Church of Agia Kioura –Matrona. A church, under the protection of UNESCO, famous for its very special wall icons. These paintings were made by some of the political prisoners of a nearby concentration camp during the Greek Dictator Ship (1970).

Every morning at 11.00am we leave the harbor of Aghia Marina on Leros. We pass by the island North of Leros. After about one hour we arrive at the white islands. After a jump in the crystal clear waters of these islands and a lot of pictures we go on board, for a meze and ouzo! Slowly we heading for the next stop for another swim (Macronisi or Tiganakia both deserted islands).
The last stop is the longest and have time enough to explore the islands, swim or/and have dinner in one of the restaurants. All these places have a small amount of citizens (especially Arkii and Marathi). Have excellent restaurants with their own traditional dishes and beautiful sandy beaches. In 95AD, at the time of the persecution of the Christians, St. John was exiled to the island of Patmos where the vision of the Revelation was revealed to him in this small cave which has now become a place of worship and an important destination for pilgrims.
On leaving the Cave you will drive to the old village of Chora, on the hilltop where you will have the opportunity to photograph the breathtaking panoramic view over the island and discover the stunning architecture of houses dating from the fifteen to eighteen hundreds.
Chora, the island's capital, houses the 11th century Monastery of St. John the Theologian. Here one can get a glimpse of monastic life and absorb timeless history through the magnificent ecclesiastical artifacts of its museum. Among the Monastery’s treasures are frescoes of the founder Christodoulou and miracles of St. John, ancient documents dating from the 6th century, vestments, silverware and numerous icons including a work attributed to El Greco.
From the Monastery you will walk through the winding cobbled streets of Chora to the house of Simandiris. There you will have the unique experience of seeing the interior of a traditional Patmian house along with antique furniture, embroidery, and paintings collected over 8 generations of the Simandiris family members.
Before returning by your private vehicle to the port of Skala, you will conclude your tour with a walk through Chora and have the opportunity to browse the open air shops.
